Seriously, that's a slick move.
I'm getting one o' these and the all-in-one AMT '60 Starliner mostly 'cause I like the boxes.
Yeah. That one.

Re: NEW BOX ART for 70 CORONET
Can't wait to see this kit again. I always likedb the weird front end. Does anyone know if anyone does a resin cast of a 4 door sedan of this make. When i graduated high school when dinosaurs walked the earth ( circua 1970) the Edmonton police service (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) used these as marked units. Painted a light cream yellow with gold door shield and single flashing Federal Roto Ray red light.

That looks to be close to the original 1970 MPC design. I can dig it.
WARNING: I can not be held responsible for the above, as apparently my cats have learned to type.

I know that years ago the Modelhaus produced a 4 door coronet, maybe if enough people ask they'll bring it back.

The 2008 "Modelhaus" catalog lists a "completely remastered" resin kit of the 1970 Coronet Deluxe 4-Dr. Sedan in two versions....both with the hood molded in. The first version is complete and lists for $92.00. The second version requires a donor kit .... the AMT/Ertl 70 Coronet or 69 Belvedere GTX, or the "Dukes of Hazard Charger" kit for their chassis (I don't see why the 68 Belvedere Road Runner kit wouldn't work.). It lists for $60.00 This information I'm listing is taken directly from the catalog. Fury3

Re: NEW BOX ART for 70 CORONET
Its my understanding that this kit is a reissue of the interior, engine, chassis and wheel/tires from the mid-late 1990's AMT/Ertl, Superbee, but uses the original, (supposedly more accurate), circa-1970 MPC kit's body, glass, front & rear bumpers. I am curious about the 1:1 factory-stock 1970 Superbees... did they ever come from the factory with the wacky dual front bumpers painted the same color as the body paint, instead of being Chrome? I do know some 1970's-era Cudas could be built with a painted front bumper; is that the case with the Superbee too?

The front bumper was not painted on any 1970 Coronet, but was completely plated. The area in which you describe that makes the area appear to be painted was accomplished by attaching a painted appliqué to the area. To have a little fun, I'd like to ask a question to the REAL forum experts (you know who you are ). Which 1970 Coronet models received and/or what determined the installation of this appliqué? When replying with your answer, please list the source of your information/wisdom. Fury3

Fury3: So far no replies to your excellent question, how about providing some insight to us non-expert/just-average Mopar fans!!!

I'd love to see a 1:1 photo of this applique; I'd like to try and replicate it on this kit when I finally get one!

Re: NEW BOX ART for 70 CORONET
Dave (fury), according to several sources, one being andys440.com , I believe that this painted panel was only available on Super Bee's and R/T's, however, it is still debatable because it depends on whom you ask.

Re: NEW BOX ART for 70 CORONET
Cool to see this one come back. Does it have any new parts that we know of? I'm certain that is a direct rerelease of the stock version with the purple box art. I like this kit. I have two built and two unbuilt.
