Looks good Bruce. I did one like this about 20 years ago as I bought a Monogram 57 Nomad and was disgusted at the flat roof. On mine I retained the rear seat and made a short pickup bed behind the rear seat. I took it to a show where I overheard someone bashing it because "the short bed was rediculous and unusable!" I am not sure what people normally use the beds of model cars for, but as I was only 16-17 at the time I was quite hurt by the comment and put the kit in a box and am not sure whatever happened to it. After seeing yours I may just have to build another one.

Some great potential here.  Maybe a '57 Chev El Camino?  Chop the roof off behind the B pillar,  Use the tailgate glass for a back window, Big Block would be appropriate.. Definately not your everyday Nomad.

Re: 57 Chevy Wagon or Pickup??....Primered.....8/14

Well i got a roof on and it came from a 78 El Camino. The roof inbetween the windshield and the back section is from a 62 Bel-Air. The front suspension is from a NASCAR and the rear too. Need to put in wing windows and rear side windows.

More pics coming. The engine should it have fuel injection,1 4bbl or 2 4s?????

    Space Cowboy:

I am showing 3 pics each one with different wheels. Make your comments on which one you like.

I like the first set, hate the third.

You didn't ask for this, but I think the model would look better with the El Camino roof section from the AMT '55 Nomad. I have a spare one I'll be glad to send you if you'd like to try it.

Change the roof and the third set of wheels as it looks like a cartoon truck the way it is in pictures. Just my two cents.

I think the first set of wheels would look great, but I also would think that a slight chop for the top would really pull the look together...................
