    link in sig.box

    for the life of me I can't figure this part out.May I please have a thorough explanation on how to do this.I've tried the bracket and /url thing but can't seem to get it to work.Feel free to go to my sig. box and take care of it for me if I can't get it.By the way I am one of the dummies in the book Computer for Dummies.

    Thanks for any help.

    Re: link in sig.box

    If you are talking about a photobucket link: It seems that if you had a photobucket link before the forum redisign, then it will show up as clickable. i.e. mine. But if you added it after the forum redesign-it will only show up as plain text. The people here can copy and paste that into the bar at the top, but it is obviously much more user-freindly if it is clickable. Sorry I wasn't of any help. -kevin

    Guys, go to FAQ at the upper left of the main Forum page.  Scroll down to "Posting" and your questions will be answered there.

    mrmike, I found nothing in the FAQ which tells one how to do it - in your signature your photobucket link is red and is formatted as a link - in mine it is only text and nothing happens when you click on it....... :-(

    I've just managed to work it out!! Carcrazee, you need to type your link in the signature like this (go to update profile):

    Type the following in square brackets:

    url=http://public.fotki.com/62704/

    Then you can write some text of your own choice (like mine which is My Photobucket)

    and then the following in square brackets again:

     /url

    I have not shown the square brackets, as it then becomes an active link, so one cannot see what to type.

    Heres your link done properly:

      George's Fotki site

    If you need any more help, let me know!!

    Re: link in sig.box

    Marc thanks for your help I finally got my link to work plus a little homework as well.  you must type url inside of the square brackets then your fotki or photobucket link and then /url inside of square brackets again and that opens the link.  very cool thanks again.
