New Revell "Black Widow" '57 Chevy

Has anyone seen this kit yet?  Is the roofline changed to represent a hardtop?

    1957 Chevrolet 150 two-door sedan black/white "Black Widow'" ?

    Or a 210 two-door hardtop black/white "Black Widow" ?

If it spells F-O-R-D then it must be a FORD. If it spells E-D-S-E-L then it must . . .

The picture at Revell has the '55 style side chrome.  I would assume that it is a 150, but the pic is a cutout and looks odd.  I cannot tell what the roof looks like.

The Black Widow is a sedan, not a HT.

From the pics I saw from the hobby show, it looks good.

So this car has the sedan roof, not the sports roof?  I must have three. Happy this makes me.

It's definitely a sedan, not sure how "stock" it will be other than for the Black Widow itself, which had 6 lug wheels and a fuelie setup. But it will definitely be a good start for base model sedans, stock cars, and pro touring cars as well.

The kit is a sedan with 150 trim. It will be a 2 n 1 kit to build stock or race versions. Can't tell if it actually has 6 lugs or not. It looks like a great kit. I will be getting a few.

Re: New Revell "Black Widow" '57 Chevy

Thanks for the test shot pic, mprmprmpr!  I've been looking forward to this since Drew Hierwarter reviewed a resin version many moons ago.  I'm not crazy about working with resin, so I followed a long, convoluted kitbashing project, still in progress.  AMT's Belair as the basis, R-M's '55 for side trim and other detaily bits, AMT's '50 Chev pickup for 6-lug wheels and HD suspension bits, old AMT '55 sedan for the 2-door post roof, and a 283 fuelie from the venerable Parts Pack.

This happened to me once before, when I was a plane builder:  spent much time & effort on combining 2 Tamiya P-51 Mustangs to make a P-82 Twin Mustang, only to have Hobbycraft (? Don't recall) release it as a perfectly good out of the box job.  Goes to show you how fast I build...
