    60 FORD.....W.I.P. UPDATE 12-23 BODY

Havent done a factory stock for awhile, so I thought I would give it a go. Doing AMT's 60 Starliner. Ive built this one a few times but I think my skills have improved so I want a nicer one to display.

Started with the motor, its a 352 ci/360 hp big block.

Since looking at the pics I decided to raise the air cleaner .020 and add the oil dipstick that i forgot! Told you its been awhile since I did a factory stock.......LOL

    Next up.....the chassis

    Thanks for looking,

    Raisin

    Re: 60 FORD.....W.I.P. engine

That engine alone is a work of art! I love the boots for the plug wires. I'll be watching this build closely as I have two of these kits yet to be built. Thanks for sharing!

Raison, where have you been? I been looking for those 55 Chevys in yellow and white but haven't seen them yet? Hope everything is well! Let's see 'em!

Great start, raisin. I love the old '60 Ford. My dad had two different 1:1 '60 Fords in the mid '60s. He wrecked the first one, and replaced it with another! Good old car. I have three of these kits on my shelf to build. I am going to build one just like the ones my dad had. I will really enjoy watching your progress. Keep us posted.

Nice job on the motor  --  Les

They told me a '60 engine should be with silver covers?? How is that?

    Re: 60 FORD.....W.I.P. engine

Heres the chassis........its really a nicely detailed piece right out of the box. I added brake and fuel lines along with a parking brake assembly. The tires are from AMT's 58 Edsel, and the factory full wheel covers are from modelhaus.

    Thanks for looking,

You have nailed the engine . Where did you get the valve cover decals ? The chassis is great also . the Gold Color is right . Someone posted a list of  engine colors on this forum . I had copied it and refer to it often . Thanx for sharing...

Many people have asked about the spark plug boots. Its an ancient family secret that is guarded from generation to generation. Men have died keeping this secret, but if you promise not to tell anyone..................its insulatin stripped off wires inside of eathernet cable.

    Re: 60 FORD.....W.I.P. update 11-4 chassis

Its been awhile since I have been able to make any progress on my models. I went back to work at the begining of Dec. (YAY!) and its cut into my modeling time. I got the Starliners body painted and foiled for the second time. This is a replica of the car my Dad bought new in '60 and after the first body was done I noticed that his car did not have the rocker panel trim! Back to the drawing board........I did a second body after removing the mentioned trim. Now I dont know what to do with the first body I made!

    Thanks for looking,

    Raisin
