    97 Tahoe Police Package.

This is my first post in a while due to tech.Diff. This one is a Chevy Tahoe Police SUV that I have been working on for a while. I have custom Decals made for it, that I cant wait to get on. For the curious, this is the scheme Im going for.  http://images9.fotki.com/v171/photos/4/49373/327423/cnpca2858-vi.jpg

I have the body painted from duplicolor rattle can, and I am now painting  free hand the small details before I decide to put on the decals.

The interior is basically complete, features are a completely scratch built Kennel area, and a scratch built seat organizer. I also scratch built a traffic advisor, and Deck lights for the front windshield.">

Looks Great so far!!! I really liked the Tahoes we had locally, around that time line.... My favorite part, was the Kool blacked out 16&17" shariff star wheels(same as the wheels on the 454SS pickups at the time, but they only got 15/16"ers) ...

Thanks for the comments. I actually was able to trade a member on this forum for a pair of the 454 wheels. I have the main decals on, I will post pics asap.

I have the Decals complete. The Dr./Pass. Side decals are both one whole piece that took a bit of work to get on correctly. The front Grill lights were scratch built, as well as the window led style lights.

Who did the decals? If you need anymore pics, I might be able to snap some for you if I see it around town. I live in Louisville and I have a few friends on Metro PD.

Re: 97 Tahoe Police Package. New Pics 8/20

Drew, Same here. The guy that made the decals for me is:  http://www.diecastanddecals.com/. He has excellent customer service and the turnaround was pretty quick as well. I should have more pics up tonite.

I tinted the rear windows using real tint, also put "cages" on the windows using mesh commonly used with drywall.

    Re: 97 Tahoe Police Package.

I am happy to say that the tahoe is complete. Note to self: Never Paint White again!! this was my first attempt at an all white paint scheme and it is just a bear to keep neat with all of the washes and detailing. Im not 100% happy with the outcome but oh well. I put decals on the rear passenger windows that say: "caution: police canine" but they dont show up well in the pics.

For those familiar with LMPD, the current cars have a silver as opposed to silver paint scheme. The  departments changed from white cars to silver cars when the city & county govt. merged in 2003. Since this vehicle is a 97 model year, I made it to represent a vehicle from the previous fleet that was just re-striped(there are still vehicles in the fleet like this.) The current cars have LED light bars, but pre-2003 they were Strobe (whelen 9000 series). Also the 2 radio antennas represent UHF & VHF frequencies used by the dept.
