    CLASSIC770:
One question though for the forum experts- I bought the parts pack #8435 about 10 years ago.  It had a chassis included.  This new parts pack#38677 has a T roadster body included.  Does the body have any relationship to the chassis?

Good question. I too bought that older parts pack with chassis, and am planning on getting this one for the T body. My plan is to put together a T altered using all original AMT parts pack parts, or as many of them as I can get together (I have the wheels). And then maybe put the thing on a Blueprinter trailer!

I think the T body could also be used on the Fiat chassis in the Double Dragster kit. I have one or two of those around here, too.

With any luck we'll get the other parts pack reissued sometime soon. It had the drag strip accessories, some nice custom wheels and that slightly unusual 'Model T' frame. I say unusual as it was more of a tube frame suitable for a dragster and I don't believe it was an especially popular item in the fullsize world. I can post some pictures if anyone's interested...

I don't know if this is the place but... If anyone from the new AMT is listening though please do try and find some old wheels and tyres - a set of the old pie crust cheater slicks would be great, so would some of the original custom wheels and hubcaps that were deleted in favour of Centrelines, directional mags or nothing at all during the 1980s and 90s.

Scoops, head/tailights and some of the custom interior parts from the old kits would be great too, and decals.

Forgot to mention in my discussion of the reissued ex-MPC '60 Corvette that not only are all the old original custom parts present, but the decals seem to be from around 1968, too! Very most way cool!

I bought one! All the engines come with the crankshafts, camshafts, flywheels, etc.

Seriously, do not take me serious!

Mine arrived today and it's really a neat set. I was surprised to see crankshafts and cams. It seems almost like a pity to assemble these, but into a car they will go. The "T" body that comes with it is a nice piece as well, I'll have to seek some inspiration as to what needs to be done there.

The cranks and camshafts. can be left out, and used in a diorama or bed of that parts chaser truck. You can always use some plastic tube or something to provide a locater for teh belts.pulleys. I think its a waste to hide those, and that clutch.

I bought mine about a week ago. Tons of pieces and like a few others on this thread, I was surprised by the incusion of the camshaft. I was pretty stoked when this set came out as I've been comming up empty looking for them anywhere else, even ebay. If I have even one gripe it's that everyting, I mean everything, is chromed. Other than that this set is pretty darn sweet.

    In the works:
    I can't list them all!

I just bumped into this thread after seeing the box art online - Woohoo! Don't mind the Allison (it'll be number two) but I gotta get this kit! Here in Japan, it's 40 bucks, but it's ok, this is all I want and won't buy anything else - ever...

Yes it's out, and it's even made it out here.

I just picked up one along with the '96 (IIRC) reissue of the Parts Pack with the Hot Rod chassis, wheels, another Allison, TV camera, lights etc.

Haven't offered the T body up to the Hot Rod chassis yet but can't see why it couldn't be made to fit.  I plan to  build a street T bucket with a blown Caddy.

All the engine blocks went straight into the caustic soda for chrome removal.

The instructions show the T body being used with a competition chassis (another Parts Pack item?) and look suspiciously like a reprint of the originals as they name all the parts - not something they seem to do any more.

I paid $AU 80 for both which is reasonable compared to what an unmolested (try getting one with the Allison still in it) original kit goes for on Aussie Evil-Bay.

There is minimal flash and parts fit on the engines seems pretty good (on the bits i've glued so far anyway).  Detail is crisp particularly when dechromed.

The fit of the cowl to the bucket of the T body is gappy but nothing a bit of filler won't fix.
