Photo-etch harnesses
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, March 05, 2004 10:13 PM
i know there's already a seatbelt thread started but this isn't a scratch built thread.

I bought the Eduard 1/24 Sabelt red harness photo-etch set, and am satisfied with the outcome, especially since it's my first try. The only hassle i had was a couple of small sections of the red paint scraped off the straps as i was using my tools to fold them.

i bought mine from here: http://www.mediamixhobby.com.sg/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2010

i looked at a lot of the harness kits available and decided on the Eduard products mostly because they're prepainted with logos. i researched the Merecedes team and confirmed that they use Sabelt brand. the only disadvantage of the pre-painted PE is that the paint scratches off quite easily when using tools. i guess another disadvantage will be when i try to attach the harnesses to the roll cage. the length is fixed since it tapers at the end for the attachment ring.

Eduard does produce a good product, but you've done an excellent job with them!
Hard to believe they are 1/24.
Ultimatecarpage, eh? One of my favorite sites.
