Obviously you need to mask off everything that you don't want flocking applied to. Then choose either the same color paint as your flocking, or a spray adhesive such as 3M spray contact cement. Spray the parts you want flocked, and use a sifter (like a wire mesh spaghetti strainer) to sift the material into the wet paint/glue. Wait till it dries and unmask your part. Viola...carpet!

For a more precise or two tone application, you can use Elmers white glue applied with a brush, but you still need to use a sifter to apply the flocking to the wet glue. If you don't use a sifter it will come out lumpy and uneven.

Be sure to shake off the excess flocking onto a clean piece of paper after your paint/glue dries so that you can put it back into the container for use on other subjects. One container of flocking material should do three or four cars at least.

I can post some photos of the supplies I use when I get home from work. Hope all this helps!

Here you go Captain sir...

Unfortunately the only flocked interior I've got that isn't all sealed up in a finished car right now was done in all white so it's hard to see. Anyways, these are the supplies I use. I bought the flocking multipack a few years ago...42 different colors from Kens Kustom Fuzzy Fur.

I did flock the seats in my Scout. You can kind of see them here (almost):
