"Sweeper speedo" dash
Posted by Bridgebuster on Monday, August 15, 2011 9:34 PM

Folks, I need some direction on finding a Non-SS "sweeper speedo" dash for a 70 Chevelle.  I actually need two of these.  Is there a kit out there that has the non-SS type dash . . . maybe a 442 or something else?

Thanks for any direction on this.

I'd think the AMT 1970 Chevy Impala would have a near-correct speedometer.

Thanks!   I'll find that site that has all the instructions and see if it shows the dash well enough to see if it has what I'm hunting.  Thanks again.

You aren't going to find what you are looking for as a drop-in unit because it doesn't exist..

I agree with others on both forums that you will have to section a Chevelle dash and add in an Impala speedo section. Maybe if you can make one clean master, Alan (Ma's) or some other caster can make resin copies for the world.

If you are looking for a speedometer kind of like this:

Then the Buick Grand National kit and the AMT Ford Interceptor police car kit 38466 both have these types of speedometers, but you will have to cut them out and add them to your dash of course.

Hey Phil:

Check out Revell's 69 Nova I know the Yenko version looks like that.

Thanks Steve.   If only I had the skills, I'd do just that.   Not even close, though.   I WILL give it a try, though.

Thanks again.
