Bad body fillers?
Posted by justin2020 on Monday, February 21, 2011 8:31 PM

I am working on a 49 merc that i need to use some body filler. Is there any types that I should stay away from?  I have used the green stuff but I need to use quite a bit and I am willing to try to use some type of Bondo to fix the body. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hi Justin2020

I use automotive glazing putty. Easy to wok with. sands good and does'nt shrink.

If you need to fill alot. Build it up in layers don't try to fill a big space all at once.

Funny how this question keeps coming up. Anyway. Bondo 2 part putty is the only way to go! Has to be 2 part as anything else will shrink!
