masking got me mad
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 30, 2004 9:02 PM
ok, i tried putting that masking stuff on to protect some painted areas and and im having tough time gettting it off. It went on real thin, and im using a toothpick to scrape it off but it just seems to move a thin film of it around and the area stays sticky to the touch so i know its not comming off. Is there a solution of something that can get this off or what?Angry

I use the Tamiya type of masking tape. Comes off easy. Just use a little alcohol on a cotton swab.

Do you mean liquid making film? If so, go to an art supply store and get what looks like a square peice of a rubber shoe sole (cant remember the technical name). Its specifically made to remove liquid masking films. It kind of looks like a square eraser if that helps any. Dont use a toothpick, it could put fine scratches in the finish! Hope that helps.

Ok, went to the art supply store down the street on my lunchbreak and its called a "Pik-Up Rubber Cement Remover", it was like $4.00. If you are using liquid masking film, this will work great.
