Polishing and Bare Metal Foil.
Posted by JohnDB on Sunday, September 23, 2018 10:03 AM

Was wondering if BMF should be applied before or after polishing. Concerned about BMF sticking after polishing, or BMF coming off during polishing . Thanks for any and all responses in advance.

Bare metal works best the smoother the surface it's put on. Polishing will almost always remove or at the least lift the edges of foil. I always try to get all my polishing done before foiling. I've had instances where foil has rubbed off during polishing.

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

On the bench... somewhere. Pink Panther show car, 1978 Dodge Magnum Charger Daytona Midnight edition SE 300. Mongrel T.

 Good Question that !

I always strip paint from window frames , door handles and other stuff that can be reached .That way when I polish with the finest rubbing compound I have , everything comes out smooth .

Then I foil Chrome and then when done , polish the chrome to a high shine and cover the whole car with " Wet Look Clear " Works every time .
