Carburetor Paint Colors
Posted by gasser nut on Thursday, December 7, 2017 7:58 PM

I have seen many paint detailed Dominator and Holley carburetors on some really detailed 1/25 cars. I would like to know what paint and color paints are being used to create that bronze/gold type look?

I use aluminum with a touch of gold.

Try Model Master Jet Exhaust on your carbs. Steel is good, and maybe some gold or aluminum too. On this carb from Fireball Model Works I believe I used four different colors on it including copper.

Once you have the carb painted, a black wash will make those details stand out.

I have tried Tamiya Titanium Gold X-31 and it looks OK, no photos sorry.  Cheers.
