decal problem
Posted by 1940fORD on Thursday, June 08, 2017 6:15 PM

Making my own decals for the first time using my inject printer. The images I am using (National Park Service logo) have either a white/green or full green background. All goes fine until I put them on the truck and then they are transparent and all detail goes away against the dark green paint. I am missing something here? Thinking of either printing them on the decal paper or plain paper and glueing them on. Am using white decal paper.

The decals being transparent is the nature of using an ink jet printer. But, the solution is using white decal paper, which you say you did.

What kind of decal paper are you using?

I was in error. The backing of the decal paper was white, but they are transparent.

Again, thank you.

A  possibility is to apply a white back ground (could be paint, White decal  paper the same shape as your NPS logo then apply your decal over that.

Second idea is to paint the door white and create a mask of the logos shape and size then paint the door the color you wandt ,pull the mask and youhave your white background.

Thirdly is to print  two decals or more as needed and place one over the other to increase your color density.
