Chrysler Turbine Car 1962-1964 What color to use ?
Posted by nick63 on Monday, February 22, 2016 1:20 PM

I am about to build a curb side edition of the Chrysler Turbine car made back in 62-64. The car is a bronze / orange type color. Does anyone know what spray paint in Tamiya would work best on this as a close match.? Or another brand is fine too.  Thanks for any help you can give.

Thank you for the advice and choices guys on the Chrysler Turbine. I used Testors Flaming Orange  #1840 One Coat Laquer over Grey primer. Turned out to be a realistic match to the real car. I used the same paint over White primer for the Interior for a contrast and that worked out well also. Will post a photo if I can.  Thanks again.  (Photo has been sent to the Gallery)

Our 67 Chrysler and 68 Charger were both "Turbine Bronze". I always loved the look of that Turbine car with matching leather interior.

ALL except 1 painted white were turbine bronze. Modelcarworld makes a match for it. One did not have a vinyl top.

Hi;

 Midnight Prowler is right . The right color is Turbine Bronze Metallic . MCW has it and it is almost 100% correct. A little silver for my taste. Testors " Turbine Bronze Metallic" is spot on.

Gravity Paints has the Turbine color.  BTW,  Gravity Paints from Spain I'm talking about.

MCW and Scale Finishes carry this color.

Not a rattle can I know, but if you're a stickler for correct colors, that's the way to go.

I used MCW "Turbine Bronze" for the engine in my '68 Olds 442 project.

Turned out to be a pretty close match for the correct color.
