looking for opinions, which SOHC 427 do you think is the most accurate? I've seen lots and none are completely right.

No one 427 SOHC gets all of the details correct, but there are a significant number of iterations of this engine that get a good deal of it very close. Some of my favorites are in the AMT 33 Willys (Ohio George) kit, which is a good engine, and the MPC Flip Out Mustang, which has nice engraving on the cam covers though the block & heads suck. The JoHan Pro/Stock Comet has nice cam chain cover details. The new Moebius 65 Comets have a nice engine, too.

None of these are perfect. The best bet for ultimate accuracy is to mix & match parts from different kits. On that note, you have a PM.

Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

Actually, you don't. For some reason I can't send you a message, and it seems you are the only one. Wierd. Anyway, try sending me a message and I can reply to it.

Hhmmm curious. I was going to send you a link to a thread on the other forum where a member is creating the best 427 SOHC he can by combining parts from several available kits. Such linking is not permitted in the open forum here, though.

Thanks Trevor, I was able to find the thread you mentioned. A nice build up for sure but my question is what one kit has the most convincing motor. Seems it would cost a mint to build the aforementioned version unless you had those parts in your stash. I'm leaning toward the moebius '65 Comet now. I was able to view some of the components while examining the thread in question. Does anyone have a few pics of the Moebius piece? thanks in advance. Bill.

Perhaps I should have asked for answers to get opinions, that seems to be the way of this forum. You guys suck at this game, LMAO.
