Posted by Mark17 on Thursday, July 27, 2017 6:21 AM

has anyone had any luck casting headers? I am looking to create a mold and cast some upright headers, But with all the space, My fear is the part getting locked in the mold. Any ideas? Thank you.

Upright headers, are you talking about zoomies? If so, they are available in many kits and can be found in parts bags at swap meets also.

Not so much zoomies... straight upright headers, Like what came in some older MPC monster truck kits.

I think like truck and tractor pulling vehicle headers, The model Mad Mudder has them. If you take your time they can be scartch built.

I just Googled upright headers to make sure I knew what you were talking about, saw some good reference photos and also saw some 1/24th scale big block Ford upright headers for sale. The website was shapeways.com. hopefully this will help you or at least give you some good reference to make some of your own, shouldn't be too hard they look fairly simple to make. Good luck.

You CAN get your "upright headers" from Shapeways.com and then search for 3D Model Specialties by Ron Olsen and you'll be good to go. I saw some of these parts at a model car club meeting last night and all I could say is WOW!
