JDM Engines
Posted by olschoolkid on Friday, May 19, 2017 10:13 PM

Hi. I was wondering if anybody knew where to find JDM engines for model cars such as the Nissan RB26, the Toyota 2jz, etc. I would love to find these types of engines for a couple of project ideas I have.

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market

Eightyone (http://www.eightyone81.com/category/products/engine-kit/) makes both the RB26 and 2JZ engines, along with several others. I have gotten kits from them in the past, and generally their quality is excellent.

Also, Hobby Design (http://www.hobbydesign.com.cn/) has made several engines. Their prices are a little on the high side, but their quality is outstanding. Just search "engine" on their site and it'll bring up everything they have.

Fujimi made a "Nostalgic Racer Tuning" kit that includes a 2000cc and 2400cc engine, you can get it at HobbyLink Japan (https://hlj.com/product/FUJ11114).

There are also several full-engine kits, so if there's an engine you want that isn't made by one of these guys, it may still be out there.
