Just remember to reverse the rad. wall to clear the longer block, the rest should just be pretty basic fabrication. Trainwreck.

The '55 Chevy 6 cylinder engines had the motor mounts on the front of the block.  I noticed the '53 Vette kit has then in the middle of the block, which, unless Chevrolet cast these blocks special for the Vette is the wrong location for the mounts.  Your best bet is going to be to fabricate your own mounts for the front of the block and install it that way.  Revell got them right on the '56 DelRay V-8:

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

Actually, through 1957, Chevrolet Engines used a 4-point mounting system--two mounts, one on each side at the front of the engine, and two toward the rear, at the bell-housing.  This changed in 1958, with just two mounts, at about the mid-point of the block for either a V8 (283 or 348) and a single rear mount at the rear by means of a crossmember there, just under the tailshaft of the transmission.

Don't bother with the ' 53 engine. For one thing, it has the wrong valve cover for a ' 55. If you want a correct looking engine, use the six from the AMT ' 60 Fleetside kit.
