How to build headers from scratch
Posted by Timmy M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 11:30 PM
Hello everyone!
I'm new to this website but I have been building 1/25 scale drag cars for some time now. I was wondering if anyone can help me with any tips on making headers for my outlaw 10.5 Chevelle.
Thank you!

Tim,

My latest attempt was with solid solder wire about 2.4mm diameter.

Easy to form and cut.

The finished result;

Use soft edged or rounded tools to work the solder with so not to damage it, it's sands very easily and then paint ... Thumbs Up

Cheers

Tim

They look great, 'Cuda!

As a suggestion, make sure you thoroughly wash your hands after handling any product that might contain lead (and especially before eating).

Thank you 70CudaTJ and BTD! I'll give it a try with the solder. I'll make sure to wash up thoroughly after using that solder.

Did a great job on those collectors. Never had to do the headers yet but have done a tunnel ram with similar technique.
