Integra engine bay
Posted by gabemcqueen1307 on Friday, January 03, 2014 11:53 PM
Ok so I'm new to this whole model thing. But I was wondering if anyone knows of a model kit that is the jdm Honda integra with a detailed engine bay? I've seen pics of them around and wanna make one really bad! I know revell makes the regular integra with the circle headlight and detailed engine bays, but brands like fujimi have the jdm front, but no detailed engine bay. I want an engine bay that looks like this

You surely didn't pick an easy one.  I had no luck finding anything.  You may have to use 2 kits and some fab work, but it would be expensive.

Damn....well how do you guys make the motor mounts? Because I've heard of some people building custom strut towers and stuff, but I can't find anything on how to make a motor mount to mount the little b series engines to the car

I'm not the expert there.  I've been challenged trying to make mounts for putting a 5.0 in a vintage T-bird.  Trial and error and styrene.

Hey there responding to your question, try going on Ebay and type in "Aoshima" Integra or "Fujimi" Integra there are some Japanese kits out there that sell the kits but most with no engine.

There is another company called "Hobby Link Japan".com they make some very nice detailed JDM engines and turbos.

Good Luck.

Thre is a book called Modelling and Detailling Model Cars by Bill Coulter that shows a bisic motor mount that one can build pretty simply. It might take a trial or two to get it right, but if you have any basic math skills, it should turn out fairly well :) Hope this helps
