Garage Roller Door Idea
Posted by armyofchuckness on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 3:30 PM
I don't know if anyone out there has tried this or not, but Lego used to make a garage roller assembly for their city buildings. They look kind of like this:

Actually, they look exactly like that.

I got the measurements off a set on ebay and worked some quick conversions in my head and in 1/25 scale in comes to just over 9 feet wide. A little narrow, but workable for a small garage.

The bad news is that it also comes to about 4.5 scale feet high, so it would take two kits to make one door, and right now it looks like the going price for these items is about 25 bucks. A bit rich for my blood, so I can't use my own idea. Sigh I've found some neat ideas for scratch building one on here (thanks, guys), so I'll try making one myself when the time comes. Thought someone out there might find this info interesting though.
