Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 06, 2005 3:33 PM
I am looking for 1/24 - 1/25 scale weapons for a mad max style diorama. are the weapons from the smaller G.I. Joe action figures the right scale? also, does any company make 1/24 - 1/25 scale military tanks, halftracks etc. would be nice for a junkyard diorama to have something oddball in it .To be looking around and see old junkers then over in the back corner there sits a 2 1/2 ton halftrack just to make things interesting. any info would be a big help . thanks.......

Jake I have seen some small weapon sets in 1/24, there is a site I buy from when I do cop cars policecarmodels.com he has some small arms and the owner Jeff H is a good guy so you could prob. ask him via email if he knows a source. Also try using your key words, 1/24 1/25 scale weapons military kits. and do a google search you'll have to sift thru a lot of sites but I find a lot of stuff that way. Another source is SMBC scalemodelingbychris.com he has all kinds of neat stuff and they're very helpful about locating anything to do with modeling hope this helps. B

i forgot to mention, Revell has a Huey helicopter kit in 1/24 or 1/25 scale and Trumpeter has a whole bunch of WWII fighter planes in 1/24 scale. i dont know of any tanks or tracked vehicles though. Hasegawa has what has to be the best Willy's Jeep kit available in 1/24 scale too! and they have the Volkswagen thing, the german military version. both of those kits come with a few weapons in them as well.

Try PSF hobbies, they have Vietnam era M-16s, Colt .45s, shotguns (pump, pistol grip, double barrel), two Thompsons, and some other stuff.

Warning: I have not bought or used any of their products!

MPC has the classic kits called Gang Busters, for obvious reasons, has guns. It's aged, so there's much work to be done but includes the Thompson (Tommy gun), shotgun, pistols as well as when there are figures in the kit, two hands are holding pistols. Plus a few crates of moonshine, a violin case, etc.

AMT makes a WWII Jeep with a couple weapons. It's the Hogan's Hero Kit.
AMT also has the Dodge squad car, last issued as the Batman The JOKER Goon Car. Comes with the police equipment: Riot shotgun, etc.

Hasegawa, as mentioned, I don't know about the weapons inside though.

And a few others surely.

You can also scratch build your own... maybe...

http://www.reynaulds.com/preiser/p_1-24_misc.asp?item=lngNumericSort

also the preiser tool kit has 1/24 scale bolt cutters like Max uses (to cut bolts and to punish the vermin). it also has stuff like shovels and jerry cans.

Tamyia has made some 1/24 armor kits, they're German tanks from WWII. Check their website, then check ebay (they're discontinued.) And would someone give a web link or web address for any retailers/companies that sell modern 1/24 scale weapons and accesories?

I belive Minicraft got some 1/24 tanks as well.
Preiser got German weapons from wwII at least.
You'll find several guns in the Taurus Police car by AMT.
The ESCI Land Rover 109 "Paratroopers" got a very nice machine gun. I'm wondering about replicating that one in resin, cause I would hate to reuse mine.
http://public.fotki.com/bugace/plastic-modelbuilding/ Hmmmm, where is the glue, know I it got here some where.......hi,hi,hi,hi..........hmmmm Gues my wife has hidden it........................hi,hi,hi,hi................................

If you can find them, Tamiya sold individual WWII figures in 1/24 (both plastic and metal versions). They were some of the same figures found in 1/35 scale. They came with WWII era rifles and stuff for one figure. Even Gen. Patton with his cane and two revolvers!

Hogan's Heroes Jeep kit has a Browning .30 Cal. Machine gun and mount, an M1 Garand rifle, and a Colt 1911 .45 Automatic pistol. Oh, and a 106mm recoilless rifle with mount.

Okay, so no one knows of any company that makes modern 1/24 accesories, such as the M-16, MP5, UMP, G36, M-4, M95, Ak-47, pump shotgun, M1911, Model 18, or M9?

So, I play Socom Combined assault and Battlefield 2: Modern combat. I't's a hobby, just like playing guitar, and building models.

If you really want 1/25 scale armor you have to look at card models. Check out www.papermodelstore.com for some neat stuff. I just finished a 1/25 HEMTT from a company called Fly Model that I got from there. I took it to my IPMS club and they were amazed at the detail you can get out of paper.

A little off the original topic, but does anybody know if those 1/24 scale aircraft kits included any JATO bottles? JATO rockets + car = sweeeeeeeeet!

psfhobbies.com has a crossbow and double barrel shotguns that can easily be converted to max,s shotgun. i'm working on the black entercepter and plan to mount max's shotgun on the rollbar like in the movie.

don;t throw that away,i can use it!

I was looking for the same thing and found a company called "Large Scale Armory" that's making some in resin. Though they are in the start up phase and have not started full scale production. I did how ever find a couple of their products on E-Bay. They are going to offer WW 2 and some modern weapons packs.

Best of luck on finding them.
