Land Rover 109 - On the trail to Tamanrasset
Posted by 2012carlo on Saturday, June 03, 2017 10:41 AM

Good day, friends.

I'm posting a diorama that i made some months ago. The subject is a Land Rover 109 on an adventure trip in North Africa, around years seventys.

The car is an out of production Italeri 1/24 kit. Everything else (roof tent, luggage, snorkel, roof rack and various equipment) is scratch built.

Hope it will be appreciated. Any comments welcome.

Very nice build and diorama.  Just looking at it makes me break out in a profuse sweat, thinking of the heat of the desert.  Hope all your tires stay up, that spare on the hood looks like it may be missing some air.  Great job!

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

This is great, the bungee straps are genius. I have a real soft spot for Land Rovers and have a couple of these kits, I hope I can do them justice as you have. A+!

Thanks. Obviously my voyagers got a puntured tire on a rocky trail. It's difficult to find a workshop in the middle of the Tenere desert.

Very nice job on that LWB Land Rover. I had found one a few years back and haven't built it yet. I'm hopin to build it like the pictures I took on vacation several years ago and also rode in.

WOW! That is an outsanding build. Fantastic detailing and scratchbuilding. I love the way you created the camp site set-up. Very impressive work and great imagination.

Carlo   Very a grand acheavement.  Not only can you build a great model but you are equally adapt at creating the needed detail to show off your vision. Well Done. Grazie per avere condiviso.

Thanks to all of you.

In my opinion Scale Auto Magazine Forum is something of a university for amateur modelers.  To get  approval from such qualified  and expert people is a real pride.
