'Getting it working' dio...
Posted by tiking on Friday, May 24, 2013 8:03 AM

...portrays a Libyan mechanic working on the rocket launcher. The second mechanic is working on the moped. Please go easy on me as this is my first major work with figures. As you all know, I have been shy about painting figures due to my inexperience. So here are the pics.

Shy for what reason, again? Everything I see in those pictures looks incredible! If you're actually planning to get better at this, you'll be teaching people how to do it, before too long. The subject itself is pretty amazing, as well. Probably typical of that part of the world, to boot!
Great work!

Wow...that's amazing...the details are awesome. The figures are far better than my ability.  Who makes the Moped model?

I agree with sfd; you have nothing to be shy about.  The attention to details, and the ability to place everything where it should be!!!! This is a totally amazing piece of work.

Keep building like this and you'll be a winner in contest!

Dude, your work is amazing. Inexperience?? You paint those figures like a pro. Definately a whole lot better than I do. Interesting subject matter too.

If you can't find or afford to buy it, Build or make it yourself.

Ok. I finally added another figure, this time from MENG civilian kit. It is a boy. Again, go easy on the paint job. ButI think I did an OK job for my third figure. I also added more bike parts and Misc.

Thanks Pappy. The figures have always been on the back burner, simply because, I was never satisfied with the results. But now I am going to do more to refine my skills.

Thanks Dirtboy. This dio was actually meant for another piece I was doing but decided to use this setup instead. I got couple more ideas that I am waiting to put into play. ;) BTW, the base of the do is actually an old tree truck. I use this idea on my last build, with the old VW buss in the woods.

This is real cool. Very realistic. I think you're too critical of yourself. I'd be real proud of an effort like that.
