My main ride is a 93 BMW Paris Dakar but my bad boy is sort of a full scale kitbash, or one to one scale model if you will. It's a 1200 sportster engine in a Norton frame, and like any good custom model there are lots of scratchbuilt and a few aftermarket parts on it. Google on Nortley Fartster and check out the Cycle World Lost Specials page. Some day I may even do a model of it - research should be easy, I built the prototype.

Finally got back on two wheels again last summer, as I bought a 76 Honda CB750F1.
Pretty tatty shape, and with the front end from a K-model. Still, it ran ok, and I put over 3000Km's on the odo between June and late October. And we had a seroiusly wet fall.....
It's in winter storage now, but plans for the summer include trying to find a better rear wheel, new tires, fixing some odds and ends, and probably a new splash of paint. (Including some airbrushwork...)

I designed and built my 90% custom '71 Sportster chopper back in '72. It is currently in pieces waiting enough money to re-build. I had been riding a 95% original '70 Sportster up until a few years ago. I had a '53 Panhead for about a year.
I am making a model of my '71 out of an old 1000cc MPC kit. All I can use is the front 3/4 of the frame and the motor. I am having a tough time figuring out a 1/8 scale rule to work with. A model of the Pan is next.
I am also trying to make a model of my fathers old '45, parade dress, Harley from the ERTL WLA-45, but need stock period wheels to continue.

Ride Thumbs Up. You betcha. My ride is a 1983 Honda Goldwing 1100. Been through several provinces in Canada and some US States.

Motorcyclists are some of the greatest people to meet. Two wheelers are always waving to each other. How many cagers waive. When I am in my car and an fellow rider overtakes or meets me, I wave and smile. I always get a nice friendly wave and smile from them and no doubt they realize that the person in the four wheeler is a fellow motorcycle rider.

I ride for the enjoyment, touring and the scenery. Try to smell the fresh and varied scents from inside a closed vehicle.

Its not about what you ride, its about the enjoyment, travel and friendship. Each one of us have our own riding styles and interest, thats what makes it so interesing and fun

Daytona Bike Week isn't far off.

I am new to modeling (since Nov/Dec 06) and have not done any motorcycle models. Presenlty doing autos and aircraft

To each and every rider, I say Ride Safe and keep on

Being a retired Cop, I can relate to that. Never rode a m/c during my police experience, but did have a Ford Mustang (5 speed), and a Chev Camaro (6 speed) in my Unit. Talk about fast.......and cool.

Thanks for the welcome.

I am dabbling in scale models and trying different gendres. Will have to try a bike sometime. I like to do a variety and not just one area.

By the looks of your handle, you must have grandchildren. I have three.

Yeah, well all I have is A Yamaha TZR 125 , But even though it is in need of a lot of TLC at the moment, ( its been of the road for a while due to no road tax nor mot, ) and also due to me becoming a lazy loafer sitting at my pc alot. I amnow praying for better weather to get out strip it down and rebuild it, (its just like a full sized model kit realy). but in the meantime, I enjoy the challenge of model cars, bikes, mainly,( thats about all I can do living in the wettest part of the world ( Belfast,N.Ireland.)Clown
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most.!!!!

Used to--before marriage and kids. Had a Kawasaki KZ440. Then bought a 550 with a blown engine to re-work. Had my eye on a beautiful GPZ when had to give it all up for family reasons...Can still build minis in the basement though :-)

I have several bikes. My daily ride in decent weather is a 2000 Ducati M750 and I built a 1978 Kz1000 Streetfighter (hence my user name).

I rode the Duc almost 5,000 miles last summer mainly commuting back and forth to work.

I'd like to build it in 1:9 or 1:12 but all the Monsters are liquid cooled w/ DOHC and I have yet to find a source for a Oil cooled SOHC engine that isn't a bevel drive.

Later, Doug
