1/12 Goldwing GL1500 SE

It's been a lot of years since my last post but I'm back, got my hobby area straightened out (again) and now it's time to get back to it!

GL1500 Goldwing models are few and far between and they are all pre-assembled or diecast so not much to work with. I'm modeling this after the motorcycle my dad handed down to me, he is old enough he's just not riding anymore but I want him to have something to look over at and remind him of the fun times he had.

This is the real one I'm trying to make it look like:

This is what I'm starting with, 1/12 scale:

Disassembled and paint stripped:

Main pearl white painted, taped off for the accent color:

Accent color painted. It's maybe a bit dark but not bad:

Tape removed:

Clear coated, some foil and details painted, and put back together. Turned out pretty good considering what I started with, I'm always working to improve my skills Smile:

Your Dad is going to LOVE looking at that. Nice masking work.  You did a great job.

Great job on the transformation from boring to realistic.  The Goldwing sure is a HUGE bike.  Cheers

Thanks guys!

Steve - Yeah it's pretty big and I'm not that big of a guy but it's funny how quick you get use to it. Now when I'm riding it, it doesn't seem big but rather other bikes seem small lol. Also kinda funny is I've mostly been a dirt bike rider so when going over bumps and stuff I always want to stand on the pegs which probably looks funny on a bike like this haha!
