Revell H-1502 Yamaha DT-1 help!!
Posted by Number84 on Saturday, November 03, 2012 3:01 PM

I am ready to start assembling and final detailing and the front tire has turned to black shattered glass! The rear tire is still pliable and is fine. the front just crumbled as I was slipping it over the rim. It was a little egg shaped so I don't know if I can even try to cast a replacement.

Does anyone have one in a parts box? 1/12 "trials tread". I am building this kit to give it to a friend and I really want to get it finished.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have over 200 kits, so if anybody is looking for something in particular let me know, I might have it.

Thanks, Mike.

The only spare front tire I have is from a Tamiya 1/12 Ducati Mike Hailwood replica kit so it's a street tire and probably the wrong size as well, but I have an old Revell 1/12 Suzuki TM400 kit I would sell (or possibly trade) that has real nice knobbies. Let me know if you're interested.  -Mike

Mike, I'll measure the OD of the rim and let you know. What kit are you looking for? I've got a bunch maybe we can trade some stuff.

OD of the front rim (ID of the tire) is 42.9mm / 1.7" / 1-29/32" take your pick. Knobbies will work but I prefer a trials tread if possible.

Thanks for any help from anyone.

I think I found a tire that will work. It is off of a cheap plastic chopper I found at a yard sale. Its a street tread but it will have to work. Still looking for a trials tread tire.
