1957 Chevrolet Delray reference material
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, December 28, 2003 11:19 AM
I've done some research on the 1957 210 Del Ray and I would like to share my findings.

The placement in the Chevrolet lineup of the 210 Delray model is interesting. It was a special one-off model in the upper middle class at Chevrolet sitting in a seporate catagory just below the Bel Air's, a notch above the regular 210's, and an entire series above the 150's.

The 1957 Delray only came as a 2 door pilar Club Coupe and looked like the 2-door Sedan from the outside. The exception was in the extra paint options for Delray. No other 210 car models had the following colours : Sierra Gold as a solid and Adobe Beige / Sierra Gold as a two tone. (The only other 210 models that shared these colours were the station wagons.)

Inside, the Two-Ten Delray came with a choice of three interior fabrics in two tones, the top colour being the first listed, the bottom colour being the second : Ivory Vinyl / Charcoal Pattern Vinyl, Light Green Vinyl / Dark Green Pattern Vinyl, and finally, Beige Vinyl / Copper Pattern Vinyl. It was the only car in the 210 series to offer a full Vinyl interior whereas the other 210's were a combination of cloth and Vinyl.

Here is a picture of the paint codes for the 1957 Chevrolet 210 :

I spent last night digitally colouring in these cars based on the factory reference material.

Yeah, a CBF would be great! I'm trying to finish at least 1 '57 Chev by the time our model car contest starts in Febuary.

It will be held at the World of Wheels exhibition at the Calgary Stampede from Feb 20-22, 2004. I hope that some of you will enter in your projects there.

As for a CBF build on this board, I would first have to build the model and then photograph it. Then I have to take those pics and put them onto the net.

There are a lot of '57 kits on the market. There are 2 from AMT, 2 from Revell and 2 from Monogram, one of which is the Nomad. Let's not forget the resin casters either. When do you want it for?
