A 1979 weird little car.

or Dodge Omni as it's better known.
This is the old MPC 'Silver bullet' edition. It's the second time it's been built as I bought it as a restoration .

It's not 100% accurate as it should have the two tone with black sills etc, but it came with decals so I polished the paint and everything first tried to apply the decals but they were old and just dissolved the moment they left their backing paper. I could have just painted the sills black instead but the gold paint was polished up so didn't want to risk wrecking it again.

It's a very detailed kit though, especially under the hood. Anyway, it's weird, undiserable...which ticks my model making box.

Looks good. A trick for old decals, clear them first. It means having to trim more but should save them from dissolving.

Brown-tones - check

Front wheel drive - check

Horribly wheezy and underpowered - check

From the Automotive Dark Ages/Malaise Era - check

You have just ticked off all my boxes with this one. That's awesomeness personified, wrapped in dismal automotive failure and inconsolable car-buying-public sadness and frustration.

Great build. I have this kit, and it is very well detailed. So much detail on such a crap car...I do so love my MPCs of that era!

You should check out my site, I've got lots of other losers you might like!

I think you did a super job on this. It looks forlorn, like it knows how crappy it is. Two thumbs up!
