1978 Ford LTD

Well it was going to happen at some point, me being  a fan of unusual subjects.

This is my 78 LTD, from Missing Link resin.
Overall, a decent resin. Comes 90% complete , accept chassis stuff and steering wheel.

Heres the strange thing, I didn't have a ford chassis of this era that'd fit, not even a 70 Galaxy chassis. So I did a rumage, and sorry Ford guys, I found that an AMT 64 Chevy chassis fit. Perfectly. Exact width, exact wheelbase length. The only trimming I had to do was the very back of the chassis because the ford tapers inwards at the back.
I used some Modelhaus ford wheels, AMT tyres, scratchbuilt the mirror and hood ornament, and found a random 70's ish steering wheel.

I wanted to make a non vinyl roof version for a change.

The only thing I messed up on was it took along time to fit the windshield. After I did, I accidently got a tiny blob of glue on the inside on the glass. Fortunately it was small and perfectly round so I just pretend I did it on purpose and it's the mark left by the SatNav window sucker.

Beautiful.  Just dont  turn it over, a 78 LTD chassis is nothing like a 64 impala lol.

Hmmmm;

 Decent Job. There's some flaws.None of them are of your making though. never mind the Chebby Chassis.The Thing is that for a FORD LTD four door the roof is to Flat.

I never really noticed the roof to be honest.
As a resin it's very good. No flash and the inside of the shell is very tidy unlike some castings.
The only thing I didn't like was why they put F O R D on the panel above the grill. I can't find any reference to that on the web.
It's certainly more accurate than their 71 LTD 4 door anyhow.
