1969 Pontiac Bonneville

This one is a mystery to me . Not sure why two days ago I decided to just pull it out the box and just continue to build it. Equally more baffling is to why I abandoned it in the first place considering it was mostly finished.

Anyway, this came in a job lot of two Beakyvilles and a canoe. There was this hardtop, and a convertible. Both were partilly built and abandoned. I think the reason being the primer the previous owner used reacted badly with the plastc as it a vinyl texture to the body work. But that didn't stop me, I smoothed it all down.
So I ordered new front bumpers form Modelhaus and a bench seat as this one was missing it.

I've flocked the interior, used adhevsive woodgrain vinyl for the doors and dash. I sadly had to glue the hood shut as there was a slight warpage to the body which made the hood a terrible fit..

Here she is all restored. One of three BBB's (Big beaked Bonnevilles) . I've a 68 and 70 to complete now.

Beautiful save, nice clean build.  That really epitomizes the term "land yacht".

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

One of e favorite years and yours is great. Hard to find kit! Does the kit include an engine?

It does, but it was glued up quite hard. Couldn't dismantle it to paint it up properly , but I had to glue the bonnet down anyway.
