I just got- Metalflake old Revell Dodge

Hmmmm;

      Well, this is a revolting development for sure. I forgot the awful colors these things came in. This thing looks like a very anemic try for metalflake Root Beer ! The chrome plating is so heavy I had to take all of it and give it the brakefluid bath. Ugh !

    Surprise! The detail under all that glop is fairly decent. Shallow but useable. The Body got sanded and then Primed inside and out with good old Rustoleum Haze Grey primer. Looks decent, But I found out you have to be careful. The metalflake will work through.

     Thus the Rustoleum treatment. Wet sanded in warm water all the way to 1200 grit! Perfect finish. Now I think a decent few dustcoats of American La France red. Yeah, I like "Fire Engine Red" ! !  I will come back later and let you know how it came out.
