The forgotten Mustang - Hertz SV0
Posted by Faust on Sunday, January 26, 2020 9:03 AM

While '80s cars are a bit more mundane than some of their more illustrious forebears, that doesn't mean they can't be a bit unique or interesting!

I’d picked up the Monogram 1/24 1985.5 Mustang SVO kit a couple of years ago, and in researching it, I’d found that it didn’t come in many colours. However, I also stumbled across a couple in dark green. Doing more research, I found that this colour was for the Hertz rent-a-car ones only. I was immediately drawn to this rare version of a fairly obscure car, and, well, the rest is history!

I wasn't aware of a Hertz edition SVO Mustang.  After the disappointment of the Hertz Shelby Mustang of 1966, I was surprised that they went back to doing this.  My research found that they went and did this again in 2016 as well!

Cool! The SVO looks great in that colour. I had no idea Hertz dealt in these cars.

My boss used to say that if you learn something new, you get to go home., looks like I'm outta here.

I agree, the green is my favourite SVO colour of all!

Well, that's a good rule, too! I'm glad I could help! :)

Great build and nice tribute to a forgotten player in the Hertz fleet. 80's cars might be mundane to a point but enjoy seeing builds of them like yours more than the overbuilt Charger and Firebird models !!!
