83 Malibu wagon
Posted by arcturus on Saturday, December 21, 2019 4:27 AM

This is a mixture of several kits. I bought an 83 Malibu wagon off an unknown resin castor years ago . Sadly it wasn't great but I built it anyway. I then ordered a 79 Malibu wagon off Perry Resins . When it turned up, I decided I preferred the Perry resin wagon body and all the rest of it was better detailed. But I also prefered the 83 front end from the other kit. So I grafted the front end of the 83 onto the Perry resin 79.
I was wheelless, so I took the wheels from an unknown 86 Buick Regal promo. As non of the chrome was ...chromed, I took the rear bumper off the AMT 86 Elcamino. Along with door mirrors, and engine (The door mirrors I have misplaced though)

The only thing I don't like about this, is the body came with no badging. And I don't know where to get some 80's chevrolet scripts from.

Anyway, I wanted to give the car a plain jane look. I'm a bit of a fan of underdog cars, and all my wagons have white bands, or wood grain so this I thought.... no, lets do a very boring plain jane version that the kids would be embarrassed to be dropped off at high school in.

That is REALLY nice! Flawless surgery and your usual realistic detailing. Congratulations on a unique and totally believable build. Your realistic appearances are unmatched. Thumbs Up
