1953 Ford Crestline Sunliner (green)
Posted by Lovefordgalaxie on Saturday, September 01, 2018 7:29 PM

Finished this one this morning.

After seeing the red '53 go, I decided to build one for me.

The color was mixed from Acrilex water based paints to represent Timberline Green. Since the acrylic paint dries flat, I gave the body two coats of automotive two part clear.

Mixed a slightly different tone of metallic green for the interior.

Foil is home made.

Still don't know about the fender skirts. Think I like the car better without them.

Also plan on the future, to get a set of wheels with wheel covers for the car, instead of the Pace Car wire wheels included in the kit.

You certainly know how to build Fords, sir, this is another beauty from you. The paint detailing and finish of the interior, engine bay, and chassis, are very well done, and the body looks great in that deep green colour.

I agree with you about the wire wheels in the kit, the plating looks too bright, and a bit garish.  Some stock Ford wheel covers would reduce the flashiness.  Cheers.

Now !

That's what I am sayin .

See , it's the color you see on Money and It has Wire Wheels as well , too ! What's not to like ?   Love your finishes . Are you air-brushing ? and if so which brush ?

Sorry , one more note; I got to thinking about the wheels .You know I took a set ( I bought 12 sets from the firm that did them for Lindberg before it was sold .) One set  , I Re-Wired like a friend taught me . I used fine craft wire . Guess what ? they looked less clunky .   O.C.G.

Yes, the finish was airbrushed.
