1962 Oldsmobile 88 'surf wagon'
Posted by arcturus on Sunday, August 12, 2018 11:29 AM

Built from an old R&R resin kit (those who knew them will realise some of the work you have to put into them). I was even sent a rear bumper for a standard hardtop version. Luckily I had a 61 Wagon that I was breaking.

It wasn't to bad to begin with. A bit of filler, sanding etc of the body. Lots of trimming of the interior tub and pinning the vac formed window to what ever you could find.

I used plastic windows from some kids toy packaging for the side windows, wire antennea, scratch built luggage rack , and a door mirror made up from 61- 64 Impala mirrors. I think the surf board came from the 41 Ford woody .

Overall, I'm happy with it.

Very nice, especially the brightwork. I hate trying to paint white. Well done!

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

On the bench... somewhere. Pink Panther show car, 1978 Dodge Magnum Charger Daytona Midnight edition SE 300. Mongrel T.

Another amazingly realistic sixties classic. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail keep me coming back for more. Fantastic! Thumbs Up

Thought the first pic was a real car. Very well done.
