1990 T-bird SC
Posted by arcturus on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 1:10 PM

I don't build modern cars very often but I do have a soft spot for Revell/Monograms 80's/90's cars with their two tone bodies and stripes.

Anyway, this started off as a detailing project. I flocked the floorpan, even put a clear screen over the intrument panel, blue pin stripe seperating the two tone of the seats, and seat belts.
Sadly I lost steam with it so the only thing that didn't get detailed was the engine, but it's built and complete.
Anyway, here it is.

Nicely done, sir! Just by coincidence, I was behind a pearl white version in traffic yesterday. I was noticing that while the paint has seen better days, the car was completely intact right down to those tiny dual exhaust pipes. I recalled the Super Coupe a friend had back in the day and was thinking that this car would probably respond favorably to an eco-boost swap. They are still quite good looking cars.

The '90 MY T-Bird was the 35th Anniversary for the nameplate . A Special Anniversary Limited Edition in all Black with Black Fender Badges was ofered this year . Your build here is just impeccable . I admire Factory Stock , you've done well . "Where's the keys ?"  Thanx

Did anyone ever notice how Ford practically RIPPED OFF their design from BMW 635?

I owned 2 of those T birds, while they were nice cars when they were new, cheap interior plastics and leather upholstery meant they weren't destined to last a long time. I owned my second one for 10 years before selling it to my brother in law. It still ran great, but the interior looked like the "cat's litter box".

Great stuff Arc. ! Nice to see one stock :- *REASON* I recently brought a Bob Glidden Motorcraft Pro Stock '88 Thunderbird , modified it for a " street Outlaws " type diorama - with twin turbos & intercoolers & room for Nitrous ?? (705ci not enough Spen??!!! ) , painted it as a work in progress ( matt black 'bumpers' & mis-matched panels .) Then I found out that Bob passed away . I'll just have to get another one then for a tribute to the drag racing legend ! Bugger !

The SC was a nice driving car. I had my 1990 until 2000.

It had 10" wide 18" Neepers and rubber band tires, but rode well.

It was lowered quite a bit with stiffened suspension and a special air intake and a speed chip dialed in for all out street racing. When that blower kicked in it was spectacular.

Loved that car, but ended up replacing it with something more docile and less tickets.

Here's my old girl - she was a beast.
