68 Chrysler 300
Posted by arcturus on Friday, October 13, 2017 5:56 AM

A fourth time lucky build. I first built this back in 1997. Painted in Nissan gold, I later added a black vinyl roof a few months after I built it. I then put custom wheels on and lowered it. Years later I re-painted it light metallic blue with a white roof. About 7 years ago I stripped the blue and painted it metallic red with a white roof. I never finsied it as the paint went swirly, so I dipped in the brake fluid again, and then didn't touch it again until this year, where I decided to paint it it's original paint scheme.
Unfortunatly I lost the stock wheels, so I used some 5 spoke Magnum wheels, which really sets it off.

Very nice.

I'm very fond of these '67/'68 Chryslers.

I owned a '67 Chrysler 300 back in high school.

It was red with a black vinyl top & black interior.

It had the 440 automatic.

I have the kits of both the '67 & '68 to build.

Hopefully soon.

I've already built the Johan '62, '64, '65 & '66 300s, as well as the '60 & '61 New Yorkers.

I need to build the '63, '67 & '68 to finish the "family".

The gold paint looks very classy on the big Chrysler, and those magnums look nice.

That is really sweet. Too bad we've lost most of Johan's tools, they had some great cars.

There were two ' 68 Chryslers, on the path I used to take to high school. Depending on which street I walked, I usually saw one or the other. One was a red 300, the other a light blue New Yorker four door hardtop. That's a beautiful scale replica of a very fine looking automobile. Thanks for the look back! Dinner

Looks great, as usual! The picture makes it look like its almost in scale with the house. Like you have a large parking area in front of the house! Nice work! Cool Thumbs Up

If you cannot have a good time, what kinda time can you have? JR

Next on the bench:  Another 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, 1958 Chevy Impala, 1987 Buick GNX, 1950 Chevy Pick-up, Indy Reynard, 1965 Corvette, probably not in this order.
