My Factory stock is in my Album
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 12:47 PM
Its a 1972 Monte Carlo L-48 . I did this car after my street car. They only made 48,000 out of the 138,000 Monte's that year. This was the car that had the 350/350 Vet motor in it with the L-88 came and 3:31 Posi rear. 3 Spd Hyd trans. There is nothing done to it that is not from the stock perduction car.

The differents between the 350 Corvett / Comaro/ Monte Carlo.
350 Vett had Aluminum Intake/Heads and L-88 cam
350 Comaro had Cast iron intake/ 2.02 Aluminum Heads L-88 cam
350 Monte Carlo Cast iron intake/ 2.02 Cast Iron Dumble Back head L-88 cam

Vetts motor rated at 390 hp
Comaro rated at 375 hp
Monte Carlo rated at 350hp

this car has Factory Air and has only one side mirrer. It also has the Big Block front springs in it for heavy duty chassis.

38k on the miles thanks.

for one on the order papers between the three it was a different code number. Monte Calo was the L-48 package. 4= was the 4 bbl carb and 8= V8
there was also the smaller package that was sold in Cali or every where els you could order but in Cali you could not order this package car.
350/ 330hp was the two bbl car
350/300hp had the 1.96 heads and 2 bbl car.

Hey Chas, where exactly do you find all this old Chevrolet production information?

you can go to the dealer and ask them for the GM retro phone number if you have a car and the order # or Vin # they will send you every thing on the car and how it could be made and how you could order it. Also it give a book just on your order number and every thing. This is for any GM made car and its free.
