61 Buick Special wagon.

A quick rebuild of one I made about 13 years ago. It was another case of bad paint and quick foiling so I rebuilt it few months ago.
Initially it was painted silver with a white roof. It's now repainted in a pale bronze with a cream roof. I left the silver interior of the original colour scheme, and weirldy it seems to work. Amazing what happens by accident.

Beautiful model. I would love to get my hands on one of these. We had one when I was a kid.

What a Gem . Yes these were Special allright . A Senior Compact which developed into the wildly popular Intermediates within a couple of years . Which the Studebaker Larks were in the day . Other than the bean counters insistnce of 13" Wheels/Tires and the "wonder engnes" providing costly problems these originals failed . I always wondered how much better and durable these should have been . It's funny how the high dollar Buick and Olds came with 13" and the Pontiac had 14" . You've done great justice to a otherwise ----- Car . I admire it .. "I'll passon the keys , I don't know anyone operating a Wrecker these days ." Thanx ..

Those colours really suit the car well, very smart indeed. I've just picked up a mint untouched one of these kits, didn't realise it came with all the service car goodies.

Agreed. The subdued colours look great. Nice model.
