Model Railroad forums?
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 7:53 PM
Does anyone know of a good model railroad forum that is free?

I like model railroads, but I rarely operate them because I am building models.

Aric,
You didn't specify what scale model railroading. I belong to a large scale, garden railroad forum. You can view the forum index and other items on the site for free.
Here is the link www.mylargescale.com
I've been involved with model trains for the past 6 years. I build scale model narrow gauge trains that operate outdoors or indoors on 45 mm wide track.
It is the same width track that LGB trains use. Here is a photo of a scratch built mining caboose I built several years ago that won First Place in a Finescale Model Railroader Magazine. CoolCool

Aric,
They also have other scales on this web site including HO. I don't know how much activity is on the HO forum, but you can check. Otherwise I would suggest going to the web and do a search for HO train forums.

www.trains.com, as Andy suggested above, is also a Kalmbach site and has approx 170,000 members, and has specific forums for Large Scale/Garden Railroads, (1:1) Trains forum), (1:1) Classic era trains forum, Tinplate/toys forum, and Model Railroader forum. Being an HO model railroader, start off with the Model Railroader forum. Lots of good stuff there.
