Brass radiator - How??-HELP!!
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, January 25, 2004 4:28 PM
Am building a 1/20th 1907 FIAT GP car by Revival. The real car had a brass radiator, the instructions show a red painted one. Does anyone know how I can do the radiator in brass. Bare metal foil does not produce brass sheeting as far as I know and neither does Alclad paint. Testors paint doesent look right. Suggestions? Thanks in advance. Steve

The photo I found shows the radiator as being unpainted brass with a black mesh-like material covering the center. This also has the car's racing number on it.

There are metalizer paints in brass from the Testors Model Master series that work fairly well. After this paint has dried, it helps to buff with a soft cloth.

We'd like to see that racer as you build, if you can.
