Misery Machine
Posted by spencer1984 on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 8:44 AM

Inspired by the art of Travis Pitts, this started out as a gluebomb Little Red Wagon and Jimmy Flintstone A-100 Panel Van.  It's since been converted to a post-apocalyptic monster hunter complete with mounted chainsaws, melee and ranged weapons gathered from across the pop culture spectrum, and the requisite lighting, armor plating, and supplies.  Velma was made from an Atelier iT figure, while Scooby is a vinyl Great Dane that looked pretty close to the correct size. A full writeup of what went into the build is available here: http://spencer1984.com/my_models/misery-machine.php

As always, any comments/criticisms are welcome!

I love it! I live 50 miles from Coolville, Ohio, (Where the gang is from). The details are impressive. Well done!

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

awesome work. it's like its own little diorama. The gun in the red velvet box reminds me of Mad Max 2 where the Humungus has his gun in the box.

Thanks, guys!

Good catch! The box is kind of a tribute to MM2, with the gun itself coming from Supernatural. I thought it'd be fun to have Velma build her armory from across the pop culture spectrum.

I am enjoying picking up the little pop culture references on this build.  I see the Necronomicon from Evil Dead and Lucille from the Walking Dead inside the van as well.  Cool build!

Very cool project. Great details. It looks like it was a lot of fun to build.

Thanks! it was, albeit one that ended up running a lot longer than I had originally planned (same old story).
