Brilliant! Good old British 'Sports' car. A mate had one in the '60's and another guy up our road had the Vitesse, tuned by a local Triumph dealer, with Sid Hurrell tuning bits on. Shaved head, domed pistons, bigger twin carbs and lowered suspension. Of course as it was a swing axle at the rear the wheels were 45 degrees to the ground. And it did 150 mph!

The dealer also raced a Sid Hurrell tuned Herald!

That kit looks nicely proportioned and molded. Back in the late sixties and early seventies, I worked for a firm selling "foreign car" parts. Sold lots for the BMC and Jaguar cars. The Triumphs were mostly TR3s and 4s, but an occasional Herald would show up at our door. While the Bridgehampton Race Circuit was still operating there were plenty of English cars to compete with the Porsches. Funny how things have changed. American cars made in Canada and Mexico, BMW and Hyundais made in the US. Back then each make had its own true identity. Waiting to see this one done!

Well I have decided to scrap the old girl in a nice way though! She had a body joint between the doors - about the 1/4 light vent area..

That Triumph Herald convertible is a '57 Chevy compared to my buddy's old 1:1 Hillman Minx convertible which was more like a '53 DeSoto. The chiseled lines of the Herald vs. the bathtub shape of the Minx. Laugh

It was looking pretty good except for the seat material. Not sure why you chopped it up.

I found the airfix kit quite neat, but lacking in detail, but is so small its not adversely affected.

Wow, I was looking forward to seeing this one done!  Don't often see these, now I'll have to find my own to build, need another lifetime to do them all
