If you go to copcar.com bring up the L.A.P"d file there are 4 really good photos of the 78 fury squad. If you scroll down further you will find a list of cars used by this agency. The Monaco and fury are both identical cars with the exception of the Monaco is a more upscale car with a little more trim but the majority of people would never know the difference. The L.A.P. D used Furies in 77 &78

LAPD Used the Plymouth Fury. The outside difference between the Dodge Monaco and the Plymouth Fury is that on the Fury, the chrome grille went all the way across. The Monaco grille had like a half and half thing going on with a divider in the middle. Also The Dodge cars had VIN numbers WK41U(12345678) I owned both. Dodges were required if you wanted the 440 engine. Plymouth engines maxed out at 360's. Also the Plymouths had lower rear axles by the way. The Dodge 440 had a 2.73 ring and pinion and the plymouth had various up to 3 others.
