FIREMODELMAN- look here please
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, February 29, 2004 8:18 AM
I'm new to this forum, so I don't know if calling you out like this is okay or not.

My question concerns some of your trucks you've built. I'm really interested in some of the pickup cab type mini pumpers you've built. Where do you get the heavy duty running gear and 1/32 scale pumper beds for them? I'm assuming you started with run of the mill 1/2 ton truck kits for the cab.

I'd sure appreciate your guidance on this.

Thanks,
Kevin

hi kevin , first off let me welcome you to the forums. as far as the mini pumpers go , this is all i do, i start with a 1/25 scale pick up kit, the pumper body comes from the revell issue 1/32 scale mack fire truck, it is currently avalible with a malibu police car with it. i cut off everything on the pumper body, from the cross lays forward, then it's just a matter of mating the cab with the pumper body, as for the running gear, i just use the 1/32 scale wheels and tires that come with the mack kit, they look right, so i just use them, kinda odd really that one could mix and match the two scales , anf it still look right??, well i hope i have been of some help. if you need more info , just ask.
