1965 Chevy El Camino

This will be a short WIP. I painted the body last week with champagne gold with matching dash and steering wheel with a black interior. I foiled the body but you can't see my wonderful foil job since the color of the paint is so close. The lettering foil was done before paint and revealed after paint with some lacquer thinner. Laugh

I painted and put the engine together box stock and now its on wheels. I have finished pictures for this little roller tomorrow. Thanks for looking! Cool

If you cannot have a good time, what kinda time can you have? JR

Next on the bench:  Another 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, 1958 Chevy Impala, 1987 Buick GNX, 1950 Chevy Pick-up, Indy Reynard, 1965 Corvette, probably not in this order.

Thanks, Volvo! I just used some BMF on the dash and then some black paint on the radio and gauges. It takes a little time to rub down the foil but pretty easy!

I may make you more jealous. I might build this one into a surf camper! Laugh Thanks for looking! Cool

Great work so far! The dash looks great. One of my weakest areas is interior detailing. I'm going to have to try your foil method! The camper shell looks perfect on there!

Thanks, Volvo and Maniacal! I appreciate your comments!

I've pretty much finished this one but want to put some travel decals on the camper shell. When finishing the taillights on this one I was disappointed that the red lenses really didn't fill the cavity for them. So I took the custum taillights in the kit, cut them down and used them. I think they look much better along with the foil that I added for the housing for lenses. Its raining today and all weekend so I'll post pctures when I can. Thanks for looking! Cool
