Dinosaur Tour Car

This JP car started as a stock Maisto 1/24 Ford Explorer. i repainted it in bright yellow tamiya spray and did the green through the airbrush. the interior received a custom dash and a few accessories. The decals were printed on my home printer. some of the parts were 3d printed, like the front bar, dome window and rear bumper. The clear top was 3d printed in translucent filament and the main project i had in mind when i got a 3D printer.  The rear brush guards i had to CAD myself as the ones in every file i found online were too thin to print on a hobby grade printer.

Awesome job on this! I have one on my to-do list as well, maybe some day I'll actually get to it...

You definitely can do some different subject matter with that printer. Where's the Velociraptor?  lol

Really nice model depicting the movie version of the JP tour car. I read Jurassic Park about 2 years before the first movie was made and seem to remember the tour cars being described as Toyota Land Cruisers in the book.

Tamiya  missed a trick by not ever issuing their jeep with JP decals. As far as I know theirs is the only plastic kit of the jeep with rectangular headlamps. Has anyone produced after market JP decals for this kit?
